How We Source
Every article is reported from primary documents: statute and bill text, agency press releases and guidance, enforcement orders and consent decrees, court opinions and docket filings, and official breach registries. Each is linked. Where we rely on another outlet's reporting, we say so and link it rather than absorbing it.
What We Do Not Do
We describe what laws and regulators say and to whom, by the terms of the documents themselves. We do not tell readers whether a law covers them or what they should do about it. Those questions require a licensed attorney who knows the specific facts.
Corrections
Errors are corrected on the page with a dated correction note explaining what changed. We do not silently edit published articles to fix substantive errors.
Updates and Review
Articles carry a publication date and, where materially revised, an updated date. Each state page shows the date it was last checked against the current law.
